The Jamaica Prefects’ Association (JPA) is the representative body of secondary school prefects across the island designed to coordinate prefects island-wide with the mandate of developing effective student leaders. The organization was first launched in 2008 and, after a 10-year hiatus, was relaunched on October 22, 2018 at the Wolmer’s Boys’ School.

Initially named the National Head Prefects Association of Jamaica, the JPA was developed out of the 2007-2008 “Peace for Champs Campaign.” JPA’s mandate includes working to ensure that Prefects understand their roles and responsibilities within the school environment; and are empowered to work closely with their school administration to address issues of behaviour management and civic responsibility.
